= 2025-07-29, Tuesday = Another Dynamic "Master/Stack" tiling window manager [0] This gets very good, glowing reports on You Tube as a versatile and configurable replacement for DWM. I cloned the git repo, installed a few packages needed to build DK and compiled it. Copying the config examples and editing them was straightforward. Key bindings are set with an external daemon "sxhkd" and a separate configuration file. I played around and got a setup I felt comfortable with - and it mimics my DWM setup.... The good points: Master-Stack Swallowing works (a GUI prog. started in a terminal swallows the terminal and takes over its window - no wasted terminal window hanging about) Scratchpad - works if you limit to only pushing one window into the scratchpad stack but it tends to crash if you push additional windows with the hope to pop them off later... Multiple layouts - tile, spiral, dwindle (similar to I3's autotiling layout) etc. etc. It works with polybar nicely. Good as it is, I still can't see too much advantage for my use cases, over DWM, other than the ease of configuration. [0] https://github.com/natemaia/dk
