This is my first attempt at a /now page for Gopher

I live in Shetland, far from the Madding Crowds! I'm married to an
artist and we have 2 dogs & a cat. As I write this I'm 60 years old
and can't quite believe it. I had a heart attack in 2018 and in
2019 developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. The RA is now a central part
of how I manage my days. I've been happily teetotal for the last 5
years.

Still working as a Transmitter Engineer, of sorts. Been doing it
for almost 40 years. The last 14 as self-employed. I'm starting to 
think about the possibility of retirement...

I've re-started my never-ending fascination with radio. 
I'm now immersing myself in the world of homebrew radio,
designing, building and operating amateur radio equipment.
I also recently resurrected my long-term plan to finally learn
enough C to make little projects for myself. It's a steep learning
curve!

I go in and out of reading novels. I'm on a rest from reading at
the moment, but recently read a few books until my enthusiasm waned
as it does every few months.

I write a daily diary, with small sketches and a record of my life.
I've taken up my old Ham Radio hobby again, in a small-scale way.
I play chess most days with my wife.
Dog walking.
Swimming on a Sunday with friends and their kids.
Gopherhole maintenance and phlogging.
