Dependency Checking
To implement dependency checking in a Netlib directory by creating
.depend files:
- Add /usr/lang and /netlib/admin/bin to your path. The first is
required so the Depend script can find the compiler. The second
is optional and just saves you from typing the script's full pathname.
- Check that we are the master site for the directory where
dependencies are to be created.
- cd to the directory where you want to create the .depend files.
- Type "Depend -c" to start the script creating .depend. If there
are subdirectories where dependency checking is desired, cd into
them and rerun "Depend -c".
- Edit /netlib/admin/LIBS as necessary. For guidance see ...
- Run netlog.
- Test the dependency checking by grabbing one or routines, either by email
or some other mechanism where dependency checking is turned on, and
verify that all the dependent routines were retrieved as expected.
