This is the part II to Odie's Graf essay, it gives some more background on the cause. -Jugs
Again, you really have no conception of the difference between vandalism
and graffiti. I have never in my life seen a TAG on a privately owned
car. If someone were to write on your car, it would be for COMPLETELY
different reasons than what I am trying to defend here. They would be
doing it to be an ass and to piss you off. Personally, I don't give a
shit if people who aren't interested in graffiti see my shit or not. I
do it for myself and others that take an interest in it. People who
VANDALIZE do it to be noticed by people who DON'T like it.. exact
opposites. Don't confuse the two.
: This may come as a shock to you, but in fact ALL of the graffiti I see
Well I don't know where you're from russ, but to me it sounds like the
shit your looking at is gang graffiti and the like, which is completly
different. Shit like that is used to mark territory, etc, and I wouldn't
defend someone doing shit like that. If there is real graf in the area
which you live, chances are you don't know where it is and its out of
your sight, and it was done that way for a purpose. You see, graffiti
isnt done to piss you off. And if it is, i'd call it vandalism not
graffiti.
: Poor analogy, what two conselting adults do in
You can compare me to colin ferguson and you'r calling that a bad
analogy? The point i'm trying to make is they are both illegal. You
said I shouldn't do graf because it's illegal. I'll agree to stop doing
graf if you agree to stop getting head. (I dont think either of us are
going to go for that one).. Same shit.
: I'm open to any reasonable argument. I'm just skeptical that there is
I never said there was.. I'm talking about Graf. Graf may be vandalism,
but not all (in fact a very small percentage) of vandalism is Graf.
Learn the differences.

: it. Would you? How about if you were just about to sell that car to
: get a better one, but the deal fell through because the car had been
: vandalized?
: is on privately-owned, non-abandoned fences, buildings, and bridges.
: So while you personally don't "go running through the suburbs writing
: on people houses and their white picket fences", most of the taggers in
: my area do exactly that. Perhaps that will give you some idea as to
: where *I'm* coming from.
: private, (with a built-in cleanup mechanism I might add) is not the
: same as an act of vandalism, committed without consent of the propery
: owner, in public, and which requires a significant expenditure of time
: & money to clean up.
: a reasonable argument for vandalism.
