How do we rate software?

Every week, Tucows evaluates hundreds of submissions in search of the best applications available. We do this because we too are users, and we understand how valuable it is to have one resource that has tested and evaluated tens of thousands of programs. Unlike other download sites, we don't accept every submission, nor do we link offsite to the download. Tucows isn't just a software repository.   Our reviewers have looked at thousands and thousands of applications. They know what it takes to make a program stand out. As such, our endorsement of a particular title is based partly on whether or not the reviewer would recommend the program to a friend.
