This draws on the Debian archives and other sources. It has a system that includes the best and brightest of GNU/Linux software complete with a selection of window managers and the KDE, GNOME and XFce desktop environments.
The custom text-based installer steps you through the install process by using hardware detection. Most of the install is automatic. Software packages are installed by selecting package groups, or you can accept the Libranet default install to achieve a well-rounded and versatile system. This is completely compatible with Debian, so you can use apt-get or Libranet's Adminmenu to install additional packages from the Debian archive as well as security updates.
There is an active Libranet users mailing list and existing Libranet users are keen to share insights and solutions.
