Conectiva is an RPM-based Linux distribution. The installation program is easy-to-use and offers
multi-language support. It looks good, too.
Setup was simple and painless, as all of my hardware was detected and I only had to partition my drive. Thus, I was quickly on my way to picking out the packages that my system would need.
I selected the "everything" install, and
sat back and waited for the install to finish.
Let's see ... 2.2.17 kernel, GNOME 1.2.2, KDE 2.0,
Star Office and other, mostly up-to-date programs.
The thing I really like about this distribution is the
apt-get interface to RPM packages. Just use "apt-get
program_name" and the system will go find the RPM
package you requested and install it.
Check out this distribution. I am quite impressed
with it, and I think you will be too.
