Notes on paper copy and CD's
General note
The journal is freely accessible and there are no restrictions
whatsover on making printed copy of the journal articles or of
complete volumes for private use. However, in partnership with International Press, we
supply complete printed volumes in soft-bound format. The price for
this printed version is being maintained at around 10c (US dollars)
per page plus handling. At this price it does not make economic sense
to print your own copy of a complete volume and we recommend ordering
this professionally printed version from us or IP (details). In particular libraries
are recommended to purchase this version, which is suitable for
display and eventually binding in hard covers. Details of library subscriptions.
The Geometry & Topology Monograph series is also available in
low-priced hard-bound edition printed by IP. Details for ordering
Volume 1 (The Epstein Birthday Schrift).
Reprints
Making your own
Each article will print directly on any postscript printer
(or, via a postscript interpreter such as ghostscript, on any
printer). The files are prepared, wherever possible, using
high resolution fonts (600 dpi) and you will get the best
results if you print on a 600dpi printer, but there is no
problem printing on a lower resolution printer (typically
300dpi).
The page size has been chosen to make a "reprint" of roughly
the same size as a reprint from a typical (larger) paper journal.
The following instructions will produce a professional-looking
reprint :
Print the article on a double sided laser printer. Align the
pages with the title page on top and use a paper guillotine to
trim the margins to roughly 1 inch all round with an extra 1/4
inch allowed on the left hand margin. Staple along the left hand
side.
Covers
You can print your own cover by using the printing file for the cover
provided. Print on blue paper if possible. If printing on a double
sided printer the second page will print as the back of the front
cover and you should use a blank sheet for the back cover. If
printing on a single sided printer, then bind so that the second page
forms the inside of the back cover. The front cover has a trimming
line for guillotining. If this line fails to print (it is close to
the print limit for most printers), then use the instructions above
for trimming.
Ordering reprints from us
We provide a reprint service. We supply reprints, printed on
chlorine-free paper with card covers on demand. The price is
calculated as follows (numbers are UK pence ie 1/100 UK pounds). Each
(double-sided) sheet costs 10p -- ie divide the page-length by 2,
round up and multiply by 10. Then multiply by the number of copies
needed. Add 20p per reprint for covers. Finally add 200p per order
for postage and packaging.
Please email your order to
gtorders@maths.warwick.ac.uk. Cheques or money orders
should be made payable to The University of Warwick and mailed to:
