About the first issueWe have already anticipated some of the features of the journal. However, we believe that the best way to achieve our high-quality goal is to start little by little. For that reason, we plan to start only with just part of them. More concretely, the first issue will be dedicated to the XXVI JAIIO,
the 26th Annual Argentine Conference of CS and OR, that was held from August
11 to 15 in Buenos Aires. That issue will contain from 10 to 15 full papers,
that will be selected among the 42 original research papers presented in
the five different symposia that composed the conference. For this occasion,
the program committee presidents of WAIT, ASOO, SOST, SIO and Redes will
be Invited Editors, choosing the best presented works, inviting their authors
to prepare full versions and submitting them to a final revision by anonymous
referees to allow a final selection. Publication of the first issue is expected for February 1998.
Subsequent issues of the journal will contain the research papers,
surveys and ongoing research sections, while other sections will be added
progressively.
