5.4 The Owen’s Valley Radio Observatory
The Owen’s Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) is a ground-based, 40 m single dish, telescope. A HEMT
reciever operating at two frequencies (14.5 GHz and 32 GHz) has recently been added to improve the
sensitivity of the telescope. The resolution is 0.12°. The original experiment put very strong constraints on
Galaxy formation scenarios [62] [73]. Recent data on 36 pointed observations at Dec. 88° give
