Ping

Ping applications can make better use of the DOS Shell's Ping utility.  Pinging an IP address allows you to see how long it takes for data to go from one address to another and back, almost like a sonar.

Description:    PingSweep is an IP Network Discovery via PING sweeps. It can show what IP addresses are in use (or not in use) by scanning a range of addresses. It also supports reverse DNS lookup for each address. Once it is registered, exporting to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file is enabled.
