It's been over a year now since the jump/DLL libraries gained
wide-spread use under Linux. Still, there is a constant stream of
messages in the newsgroups from people who've accidentally removed a
symlink trying to upgrade a shared library. When this happens with
libc, the system is usually left in an unusable/unbootable state.

To help remedy this situation, I've written a long overdue utility,
which in addition to updating the symlink in one action, also performs
several sanity checks on the new library. It's been uploaded to
sunsite.unc.edu as /pub/Linux/Incoming/chlib-1.0.tar.z.
