The configuration file contains the URL of your bookmark source, and other
settings. By default the file
jboomcfg.xml
in the
user's home directory is used. This way an installation can be used
by several users and is as system independent as possiole.

You may choose a different local path, but keep in mind that this path must
exist on every single client you use. You can even prevent jBoom from using a
configuration file at all, but then you have to enter your settings each time.

Instead of maintainig a configuration file on each client, you may place a
single instance on a server (not necessarily the one that contains the program
file). You then have to enter the settings only once. This, however, makes the
installation private; it is not possible to share it with others without
sharing bookmarks, passwords etc. as well.
