FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
- Why “Protect” button is
inactive?
There can be several reasons for
it:
- The file had been protected before. See the file status to be
sure.
- The file contains errors, therefore protection can’t be
performed.
- The SWF file doesn’t contain AS. If there is nothing to
protect, “Protect” button will be inactive. However, you still may
play this file.
- The file is of different format. SWF Protector operates only
with files of SWF format.
- Why do I fail to play the
file?
Make sure you have Flash Player installed on your PC.
- When I try to open a file via Menu –
Run Command, I get an error “No such file or directory” and the
file receives the status “Not a SWF file”.
DComSoft SWF Protector 2 was designed to handle only local files
and therefore is not protocol aware software. That's why the file’s
name must not start with "file://".
- When I install SWF Protector, I get such an error: “The
following libraries were not found on your system: libz.so.1.
Please install them and try again.”
As Linux distributions differ from one another, we, unfortunately,
cannot know exactly the name of the package you need to install.
But the installer will inform you of the required libraries. For
example, if you use Debian GNU/Linux, you can search for the
required packages on http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages. Note, if you
install SWF Protector on 64-bit platforms, you need 64-bit library
versions.
