timed is obsolete. In virtually all circumstances, xntpd or equivalent
should be used instead.

timed is not y2038-compliant and is not ever likely to be.

The packet sent by timed has a field whose length is OS-dependent.
This means that this timed may have trouble talking to other OSes'
timed implementations. The current code in this implementation should
accept packets of other sizes, within reason, but other
implementations may not be willing to listen to its packets. This may
cause interoperability problems.
