Joerg and I have already been discussing this, Joerg
has compiled a list of ports still depending on this port and I have
offered to assist him as necessary.

I would suggest this pr either be closed or put on hold until this work
 is finished.

 Hi,

only FYI, here is the list i compiled.
It would be really nice if somebody would take all these open PR's into
 account.

 ports that depend on openh323-112:

 Port Maintainer Status
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 comms/pstngw		jacke@bofh.pl		BROKEN on ${OSVERSION} >= 502126
  						BROKEN on ${ARCH} == "amd64"
  	latest version:	1.2.2
  	release date:	13-Mar-2003
Recent CVS version needs either IXJ or VBP support in net/openh323
port for IXJ is comms/ixj but is marked BROKEN for ${OSVERSION} >= 500000
port for VPB is comms/vpb-driver but is marked as BROKEN for
  	${OSVERSION} < 502000 || ${OSVERSION} >= 600000

I investigated this a little bit further. I've a small patch wich makes the
compilation of comms/vpb-driver possible, at least on my 6.1-PRERELEASE system.
I checked this on a recent CURRENT and it compiles fine. kldload/kldunload is
 possible without any problems.
The net/openh323 port needs some tweaking to build clean with VPB support but
I've patches ready for this too.
I was able to compile a recent CVS snapshot of comms/pstngw with all these
 changes.

  						PR/95915 with fix for vpb-driver
  							 pending
received no response from MAINTAINER since PR submission
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 net/asterisk-devel	luigi@FreeBSD.org	Makefile says H323 support is
  						untested
  						should be possible to convert
  						this one
I looked at this, but i could not get it compiled. The compile problems are
completely unrelated to openh323. I think we should change the Makefile to use
devel/pwlib and net/openh323, as this is the development version of asterisk
which should not depend on deprecated/old library versions.

 ports that depend on pwlib152:

 Port Maintainer Status
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
net/openh323-112	db@db.net should be removed after the
  						above ports are fixed/removed.
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Port Maintainer Status
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
devel/pwlib152 db@db.net should be removed after the
  						above ports are fixed/removed.
 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, when all PRs will hit the tree, the cleanup is nearly
 completed.

 Any comments are welcome.
 Joerg

 Hello.

There is still one port which depends on net/openh323-112: comms/pstngw.

You mentioned you were able build it.

Could you please submit a patch?

 Best Regards,
 Ale

No, I have not been able to build it. Are you sure it was me that
 had it working?

 > Could you please submit a patch?

I gave it a quick try, no luck so far on building it.

I see it is a very minor port we could consider just removing it
 as well.

The port comms/pstngw will be removed (was broken for 2 years and has no maintainer).

No, I was wrong. It was another person.

It has no maintainer and also has been broken for a long time (2
years), so I guess it's the best solution.

 Ale
