 Is the port actually broken?  There are two other ports that depend

Request is bogus - the port is being used by at least two ports out there and 
it provides very useful functionality for them. I know at least several hundred 
of companies who relay on that functionality.

 Why should be marked as broken?. I don't understand why it's no longer
