>Organization:
>Environment:

	2.2.5 release, X11

>Description:

I've added a port of id Software's DOOM to:

	  ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.ORG/pub/FreeBSD/incoming/doomsrc.tgz

The handbook said not to include the package in the port tarball
(obviously), but it wasn't clear if you folks would build the
package from the port, or if I should include the package also --
so I put the package in:

	  ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.ORG/pub/FreeBSD/incoming/doomsrc-1.10.tgz

I noticed that 4Front has also ported DOOM to FreeBSD -- their
version supports music in addition to sounds, but you don't get
the source from them. The patches I've supplied allow the source
to build cleanly on both my 2.0.5 and 2.2.5 systems. The version
used by id is 1.10, but to my knowledge the latest registered
versions of doom are 1.9 -- so I've built the package (which has
a configure script for this) using version 1.9 -- this avoids a
diagnostic and allows the demos within the .wad's to be played.
I've also added a man page, provided fixed locations to be searched
for the sound server, try to always remove any shared memory at
termination, and sndserver tries to open /dev/dsp several times
(this is for WM's, such as fvwm2, that support sound effects --
/dev/dsp may be in use briefly after the DOOM window appears.)
