>Description:
XFree86.Org released their excellent XFree86 4.2.0 release on January 19, and, while it is already available in many [Linux] distributions, I still cannot see it in /usr/ports/x11/XFree86-4/. Could that be fixed? Thanks!
>How-To-Repeat:
Easy. Just cd to /usr/ports/x11/XFree86-4/ and less the Makefile there. It's pretty clear that PORTVERSION is 4.1.0 and PORTREVISION is 12. *sigh*
>Fix:
Well, I guess, the port maintainer should compile the vanilla XFree86 4.2.0 sources, see it works, apply the necessary patches, and roll the port! :))

State-Changed-By: trevor
State-Changed-When: Tue Jan 29 04:27:49 PST 2002
State-Changed-Why:
The port was updated, but the update was backed out on the grounds
that it had not been tested enough and threatened the 4.5 release.

If you need this XFree86 version, check out the port as it was
before 2002-01-22 14:19 or wait for a week or two.
