as a root, I have no problem, but I created users, for example this is the result of trying to execute startx
startx
xauth: creating new authority file /home/toro/Xauthority

Fatal server error
cannot open log file "/var/log/XFree86.log"

Before I created another one, this is the result
xauth:time out in locking authority file /home/alex/.Xauthority

everytime I want to start as a user. As a root there is no problem

Read the advice in /usr/ports/x11/XFree86-4/pkg-message or you can
chmod 4555 /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 (which is not recommended)
