>Description:
I have built and installed KMP3 off of the ports.
When it runs, it says "no supported bitrate found" and then somehow
locks up the soundcard so that all other applications give the same
message.

mpg123 runs perfectly (but only before kmp3 is executed and then breaks stuff)

Probably. The originator's email address has changed since it
 was dedrick@dsl-117-e.resnet.purdue.edu, now I believe it's
 dedrick@purdue.edu (cc'd).

But I'm sure he won't object to me removing the port since KMP3
is of KDE 1.x vestige. Too bad the current KDE2 MP3 stuff sucks
on FreeBSD thanks to sucky pthreads support. :(

Anyway, XMMS does the job just fine. I'll wait for the
multimedia support in KDE2 to become crossplatform, and just
 remove this port for now.

Thanks for closing the PR, Mark.
