 Hi, Andrei.
 
 First of all: have you compiled innodb plugin? Not tried it myself cause  
 looks like MariaDB has an XtraDB instead of InnoDB and also InnoDB is also  
 excluded from recommended MariaDB setup.
 
 Please reply. I'll check this out in a meantime.

 I just took maintainership of this port.
 
 Here, it seems to work with this in /var/db/mysql/my.cnf
 
 [mysqld]
 plugin-load=ha_innodb_plugin.so
 (you may use ha_xtradb.so instead)
 
 After that, 'SHOW ENGINES;' list InnoDB as active.
 
 I'm using last version (5.2.5, port is coming...)
 
 You may test it from: http://dgeo.perso.ec-m.fr/mariadb.tar
