>Environment:
>Description:
Since migration from PostgreSQL 8.3.XX to PostgreSQL 8.4 on FreeBSD 8.0-BETA2/amd64 the upgraded servers crash after a while, the time depends on load on the database engine and RAM equippted to the server
>How-To-Repeat:
Install PostgreSQL 8.4 on FreeBSD 8.0-BETA2/amd64 (most recent) and do heavy I/O on the DB.
>Fix:
Downgrade to PostgreSQL 8.3 and take the inconvenience down-migrating the tables

My spontane thought is that this is a problem in FreeBSD 8.0's I/O system?
PostgreSQL is merely a stress test that reveals this? If you really mean
 that the operating systme crashes?
