>Description:
Approximately 10 minutes after bootup, winbindd crashes. I can find no obvious reason for this crash, but it is reproducible. A core dump can be found here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/uqttr9

Within the last week, this machine has been updated from fbsd 6.2 to 6.3. This crash did not happen prior to this upgrade. The freebsd-upgrade.sh script was used:

$FreeBSD: src/usr.sbin/freebsd-update/freebsd-update.sh,v 1.12 2007/11/16 14:00:22 cperciva Exp $

and all ports were brought current with portsnap and portmanager.

Please let me know if there is anything more I can provide.

Hi!

Can you, please, provide more information about which version of Samba
port do you use? Also, I'd recommend you first of all to upgrade to the
latest and greatest(tm) version of the port and check, if the problem
persists.

There were some fixes in the winbindd land in the last (3.0.32) release.

With regards, Timur.

I was running Samba at 3.0.31 when the crash happened. I have updated to 3.0.32 and I have not had this problem since. I read over the changelog for 3.0.32 and I am satisfied that my issue was addressed in that update.

Thank you for your time, Timur. It seems I just got a bad version.

 Ian

New version of the port fixed the reporter's problem. Hurrah!
