>Description:
Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a problem, i lack some technical internet knowledge here :(

But, when updating packages using "pkg_add -r" sometimes a message like 'unable to fetch package' appears.

$ host ftp.freebsd.org resolves two ftp server ipv4 numbers:

ftp.freebsd.org has address 204.152.184.73
ftp.freebsd.org has address 62.243.72.50

It appears that the contents of the directory pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-6-stable/Latest differ substantually at the moment. Some links refer to different versions or are missing.

Apologies if this is not a problem but a mistake of me.

With kind regards,

Ruud ter Laare

State-Changed-When: Tue Jul 3 15:57:33 UTC 2007
State-Changed-Why:
This is most likely due to the fact that a new package set
was uploaded to the master server and the two mirrors that
together are ftp.freebsd.org take different times to catch
up fromt he master server. This should resolve itself in
the next few hours. Until then, you can either use one of
the mirrors specifically, or even better, use a mirror
closer to you, like ftp.nl.freebsd.org

Thanks for your report. Please let me know if you still
have problems by morning.

For the curious, you can see a summary of how far out of sync the main
FTP sites are on the following page. It is my intention to work with
the site maintainers to fix these problems in the future:

 http://portsmon.freebsd.org/portsuploadstatus.py

 A white cell is "bad".
