>Organization:

>Environment:

>Description:

The present version of the port is for AStyle-1.6.0. Author's
latest is 1.8.2 as of March 18, 1999.

My version also removes the dependency on the EGCS compiler,
which, I believe, makes the port a lot easier to install.

Instead of patching the author's Makefile I replace it with
	one using bsd.prog.mk.

Yeah, I'm running behind. For one thing, I don't have a machine
 running -current at the moment.

1.6.0 flat would not compile with gcc 2.7.*. Now that -current has
egcs as the system compiler, the egcs port doesn't need to be
installed to build it *on -current*. The compiler for 3.* hasn't
changed, and isn't likely to anytime soon.

Need to look at the system version at build time, and only have egcs
as a build dependency if the system is 3-stable or older. I haven't
had time to look into how to do that.

Unencoded diffs please. I'm not even going to bother uudecoding
 these.

I've always wanted to be a dilettante, but I've never quite been ready
 to make the commitment.

I don't either. Truthfully, I think, ports should stress out -stable
compatability in the first place, since that is, what non-developers
 run (or should run).

No-no :) I did not simply remove the dependency because the compiler
has changed. My version of port builds on 3.1-stable with the stock
compiler, and should build just as easily on -current and on the
 2.2.8-stable branch.

Sorry you don't like those, but my PR contained the entire port's tar-ball --
 the changed/added files are:

 	Makefile
 	files/Makefile
 	files/md5
 	patches/patch-aa
 	patches/patch-ab

According to the Handbook's instructions, the ports should be submitted within
 the PR in tar.gz.uu form...
