>Description:
after a short while (probably depending on user input) some thread
in linux-firefox remain stuck so that various things don't work
anymore e.g. clocking on a tab doesn't bring up the corresponding
page (you can still use the menu on the right to bring it up),
and closing the browser with the '[x]' button on the border doesn't
terminate it (the main window disappears, but the icon on the
window manager remains). ps shows the following:

> ps -augxw | grep linux

>How-To-Repeat:
start the browser (on windowmaker in my case) and navigate
a bit opening multiple tabs. It probably helps reproducing
the problem to close a tab while it is downloading, or
similar 'quick' activities, though i don't kow of a deterministic
	way of triggering the bug.

>Fix:
no idea, this is likely a firefox problem so i just wanted
to point it out in case someone else has the same problem.

I have used linux-firefox on a daily basis for months
on end. I can't say it's the most stable app on my
box, but I couldn't see much difference in performance
and stability when I compared it to native firefox,
opera and linux-opera (well, *opera does seem a little
 more responsive, but appearances deceive).

Whatever problems linux-firefox users talk about are
usually not reproducible on my machine. Granted, I run
current, but I ran stable before that and releases
before that and it was always the same thing.

I'll keep an eye out for responses to this PR, but I
don't expect to see a solution or something.

Thank you very much for your report!

well, on 4.x (which i used a lot until now)
all versions of linux-firefox have huge memory leak problems,
reaching about 200MB in a week or so (depending on how
 much i browse).
on my laptop (6.0, now 6.1) i have had similar 'lockup'
problems with older versions (1.0.x) of linux-firefox,
e.g. the download dialog completely stalled the application
and i needed to kill it, more or less the same as now.

nor do i, other than hoping for an upgrade.

 Luigi,

I was having exactly the issue you described on
 my current/amd64 laptop. Meanwhile, everything
worked OK on my current/i386 desktop. Anyway,
some time ago (maybe a week), the problem went
 away.

Some work have gone into linuxulator, I think
it has something to do with the fix. Also, I
now use libthr instead of libpthread.

I now use linux-firefox for hours on end with
 no ill effects.

That said, I expect more issues with linux-apps
to surface over time. As for this PR, I'll
close it with "fixed in current" if you don't
 mind.

 Thanks!
