The problem has been found and fixed. The main problem was that freebsd5 
has a header in fs/msdosfs/msdosfsmount.h instead of msdosfs/msdosfsmount.h. 
I've submitted configure and autoconf patches to the amd people to fix 
the main package for 6.0X and 6.1.
