The program sysinstall can nolonger write out changes to the hard drive using w
>How-To-Repeat:
/stand/sysinstall
Partition a drive
Then label the drive. Use w (write) command to write out the changes to the drive.
It will complain about a lack of proper swap space and fail to continue.

Witout this, it is now nessesary to do a manual newfs of drives when installing new ones. If you attempt to do this while performing a new install, you will have to restart.

Quite incorrect; in all actuality I partitioned a drive I had formatted
just after 2.2.6 was RELEASE, and it did work fine except that
sysinstall can be VERY bitchy about BSD partition code being there
already, etc. Even so, this problem does not arise.

 Partition Yes - Label No.
I was reporting the fact that label cannot be written out. The partitioning, done first of course, does work.

Hmmm. I can't reproduce this - it works fine on my test box!
