Xwrapper: no modules loaded for `xserver' service
Authentication failed - cannot start X server
Perhaps you do not have console ownership?

/etc/fbtab has been edited to uncomment the /dev/console line,
Xwrapper and xinit are in /usr/X11R6/bin

 Never mind. Turns out the fix is to add entries for xserver and xdm in 
 /etc/pam.conf. Maybe something should be in the FAQ about this?
