In the above machine, /dev/da[0123]* got craeted fine by 'MAKEDEV all'
in the install process. However, /dev/da4 got created by something, but
not properly - /dev/da4 itself was okay but none of the associated
/dev/da4* files got created. This made 'disklabel' not work, giving
very confusing error messages.

Install FreeBSD-3.4 on a machine with a lot of direct-access SCSI devices.
