>Description:
apm is disabled according to bios setup. Modem ring lets flicker
the monitor and kills the filesystem when this happens when a
	build world runs.
On the same box under windows modem ring does not disturb
	the system.

>How-To-Repeat:

Boot freebsd, let the modem ring (dial!).

>Fix:
Switch off modem when it is not needed.

State-Changed-Why:

Does this problem still occur in newer versions of FreeBSD,
such as 4.3-RELEASE?

State-Changed-Why:

E-mail sent to originator bounces. The problem seems to be localized
to the originator's hardware, so I'm closing this PR. If this is
still a problem in a newer release of FreeBSD a new PR, with more
detail information, should be opened.
