Cannot boot installer disk for 32-bit or 64-bit, PC-BSD, FreeNAS, or FreeBSD.

System Specs:
- Phenom II X4 940
- ASRock AOD790GX/128M Mainboard
- Integrated graphics
- 4 GB RAM (GSkill 2x2GB)
- 2, 40GB HDDs, RAID 1
- LSI SCSI controller (for tape drives)
- (not connected) SuperMicro 8 port SATA non-raid card with 8 1.5 TB Drives

I did some changes to the BIOS and found that the DVD will boot to the
installer when the SATA mode is AHCI or IDE, but not RAID and I really
want RAID 1 as my OS since it is mirrored.

Here is what the loaders says:

CD Loader 1.2

Building the boot loader arguments.....
Looking up /BOOT/LOADER... Found

and then it reboots. It does not reboot when the hard drives connected
to the AMD RAID controller are disconnected. It almost seems like the
CD boot loader crashes silently.

PC-BSD thread at: http://forums.pcbsd.org/showthread.php?p=88616
>How-To-Repeat:
AMD RAID SATA controller with a RAID configuration.
>Fix:
Don't use RAID (not really an option)

are you trying to boot up in amd64 mode or in i386 mode?

A dmesg of a successful boot might be useful.

 Hi Mark,
Well, this happens on both 32-bit and 64-bit, and I can't actually boot into
the environment to run dmesg. Kris over at PC-BSD suggested trying the
9.0-beta builds and maybe trying the USB PC-BSD installers to get a better
understanding of what is going on. I will post back when I have tested the
 beta and usb installers.
