>Description:
FreeBSD-update 7.4-p2 contains some updates of the pre-installed Bind. When I install bind from ports (dns/bind97) and replace the base BIND (port config-option "Replace base BIND with this version"), the pre-installed files of Bind will be overwritten. Because of that, freebsd-update doesn't recognize the already installed FreeBSD-update 7.4-p2.

It seems FreeBSD-update only checks some files of Bind to check whether p2 is already installed. That conflicts with the version installed from the Ports-collection.

Maybe the same problem occurs with FreeBSD 8 and/or other Bind-versions from the ports-collection.
>How-To-Repeat:
1. Install FreeBSD update p2, "freebsd-update fetch", "freebsd-update install".
2. Choose "Replace base BIND with this version" in the config menu of the Bind97-port: "cd /usr/ports/dns/bind97", "make config".
3. Install port, "make install clean".
4. Run FreeBSD-update again, if you install the update again, the Bind-version from the ports-collection will be overwritten.
>Fix:
Implement another check for the p2-update for FreeBSD-update.

State-Changed-Why:
My apologies, but from what I know the freebsd-update tool only works
with a non-modified system. If you install bind from ports, the system
is no longer non-modified and therefor the tool does no longer works
properly.
