 It's not a bug it's a feature! You need to know the name of your
 account (ie your login) and your password. The password is never echoed
 when you type it, this is normal.
 
 I suggest you to ask for your password and your login to your seller, if
 you have physical access to the computer you can reset the root account
 by booting in single-user mode:
