fix last GNATS operation: this is very unlikely a problem in FreeBSD 
but a configuration problem on the network path the station is connected 
to. closing this PR.

work on something, please give us any reason to believe, this problem 
is not caused by a wrong ftp client / firewall configuration and we'll be
