Hello,

I try updating my Server via

freebsd-update fetch

Output is

Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 1 mirrors found.
Fetching public key from update1.FreeBSD.org... failed.
No mirrors remaining, giving up.

I can ping and telnet to port 80 of update1.FreeBSD.org.

 Erwin,

Could you try running freebsd-update with the --debug option? That
will print extra information which should help me figure out what's
 going on.

 Hello Colin,

this output is much more clear.

Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 1 mirrors found.
Fetching public key from update1.FreeBSD.org... fetch: http://update1.FreeBSD.org/7.0-RELEASE/sparc64/pub.ssl
 : Not Found
 failed.
 No mirrors remaining, giving up.

The Directory 7.0-RELEASE/sparc64 doesn't exist on the update server.
Which method is the official one to install updates on sparc64?

 Kind regards

 Right, that explains it.

FreeBSD Update does not support sparc64 currently -- basically it comes down
to sparc64 hardware not being fast enough to do FreeBSD Update builds without
delaying security advisories, and cross-building of FreeBSD Update updates
 not working yet.

I read a lot in the freebsd handbook but I can't find how I get
 security updates for sparc64.

I am using Linux for years, so I am not an newbie in *nix world, but
FreeBSD is completely new for me.

I set up the server from cd with 7.0-RELEASE. How ports are to manage
I found out but how have I to deal with the basesystem.

 Thank you.
