I download your i386 ISO's from multiple ftp sites, and
all had bad md5 checksums. Is this normal?

No, it must be a problem closer to your end. In future please ask
support questions on the freebsd-questions mailing list, thanks :)

Hello John, we recently verified the main ftp
servers and these were found to be consistent.

Where did you spot this behaviour? What versions
did you download? Are you sure that there are
no network glitches which could lead to the same
behaviour (I had this a couple of times, on my
third attempt the downloaded file was OK).

 Thanks,
 remko
