Won't install
>Description:
sysinstall 'hangs' part way through the bin distribution when installing 3.1-RELEASE from an FTP server on an ethernet LAN. The network card is an old ISA NE2000 compatible. The FTP server is war-ftpd running on a win98 machine. The same setup works fine for 3.0-RELEASE and below.

When sysinstall hangs, CTRL-C will interrupt it giving a message like "write fail: wrote -1 of 1024 bytes" (The disk is NOT full). sysinstall hangs at a different point through 'bin' each time I try.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to re-install over FTP.
>Fix:
Install directly from a CD

Could you attempt to FTP the entire bin directory over to a temp area with a
 running
3.1 or later system? This will determine if the problem is in the
3.1 system itself or if it's in the specific kernel that is on the
 3.1 installation diskette.
