>Organization:
Shockwave Engineering
>Environment:

2.1.0-RELEASE & friends

>Description:

Visual mode does not allow you to set the irq of a device to -1
whereas the old mode does -- this is useful for telling a WD ethernet
card to auto-sense.

>How-To-Repeat:

Try it, it's obvious.

>Fix:

This can be assigned to either myself or the original author of the
visual mode config utility.

State-Changed-When: Mon Oct 21 20:04:22 PDT 1996
State-Changed-Why:
This area is still completely broken in userconfig:
1) you can't change the irq or port to -1.
2) if the irq or port is initially -1, then you can't change it period.
3) similarly for other cases where -1 or 0 is magic.

State-Changed-When: Sun Jan 11 07:50:50 PST 2004
State-Changed-Why:

The visual config code is no longer used in -CURRENT, so if the bug
is still present in 4.x, it's unlikely that it will be fixed now.
