>Description:
Before LAN driver run up, IPMI connection is working great. Once LAN
driver is up, IPMI no longer work. When I bring down the LAN driver in
FreeBSD, the IPMI connection works again.
The NIC is Broadcom 5721. It seems that LAN driver turn off pass-thru
feature of NIC.
5721 uses SMBus (I2C) to communicate with IPMI card.
>How-To-Repeat:
I am using Supermicro P8SCI with their AOC-IPMI20-E IPMI card.
I install other OS, Redhat, Windows, all work fine for IPMI.

Def dont' think this is just a broadcom issue. I have a sun X2100
(tyson board) with a sep service proc (nve nic) and I get the same
thing. Full IPMI support until FreeBSD boot process takes over. Any
work been made on this bug ... still present in 6.1 RELEASE i386.

Real PITA, especially when trying to trouble boot issues and you can't
use IPMI's remote serial over lan feature as you lose it once FBSD
 takes over.

I just reproduce the same problem under 6.2-RELEASE-p6 .

The server is a DELL PowerEdge 860 . Please find a dmesg output .

There is an other bug with this driver (bge0: <Broadcom BCM5750 B1, ASIC
 rev. 0x4101>)
After the boot, the interface is UP without any error but not working.
It needs an "ifconfig bge0 down;ifconfig bge0 up" to start working.

It looks like the card was not fully initialized before binding the IP
 ont it.

Those 2 problems exist on 2 servers (same hardware).

Maybe are the two bugs related.
