>Description:
On a Dell Gxa diskless Freebsd 5.3 client using the fxp0 ethernet driver,

with BOOTP built into the client kernel, talking to a 5.3 server running
 the latest dhcpd:

If ACPI is ON on the client in the bios -- then the bootup interaction does
not retrieve and set the hostname.

If ACPI is then set to off on the client, and no other changes, then the
hostname is set upon bootup automatically

 Hope This Helps
