>Description:
Built-in RealTek chipset RTL8281BL on Asus Pundit AB P2800 based mini-PC is not detected by FreeBSD at all.

On the Asus Pundit's doc, a RTL8001 chip is mentioned but after checking the MB, I found a RTL8281BL chip which I suppose is used for the built-in ethernet :

http://hyrule.thiell.com/~mbuna/Asus-Pundit-AB-P2800-RTL8281BL.jpg

PCI-based NICs are well detected (I have two VIA-based NICs using the vr driver).

>How-To-Repeat:
Just boot. The interface is not detected.

It appears that this motherboard actually uses the ATI IXP200 integrated
MAC + RealTek 8201BL PHY combination. I'm not sure what driver should
be capable of attaching to this card, but it may well not be the rl(4)
 driver. According to
 http://www.penlug.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/LinuxHardwareInfoAsusP4R8L
this may be compatible with the 3Com 920, which would mean the if_xl
 driver may well work.

Can you confirm if this is recognised in a more recent version of
 FreeBSD?

 Thanks,

 Gavin

Mail to submitter bounces. I believe (from specs of the motherboard
online) that this PR is a duplicate of kern/75253 and is now supported
by the xl driver in all supported FreeBSD branches.
