can't be found (the error message was far more cryptic).
I have to add module_path in /boot/loader.conf:

module_path="/boot/kernel;/boot/modules"

I think it would be a good thing to set it properly in /boot/defaults/loader.conf -- as it was in 5.2.1.

BTW I am really happy with 5.3!!!
