I am newbie.
My sound card is working but when i play mp3's and do other stuff with
sound card to much noise comes from the speaker and i have two speakers
but only one is working I have compiled the kernel with pcm and still
the sound card is giving noise with music and my sound card is ES1938.

This is fixed in -current (perhaps the sysctl hw.snd.pcm0.latency_timer 
has to be used there).
