>Description:

The CD that I use is the second disc from "Coral Draw 5" (the one with
the fonts on it). I can mount the CD with no problem and go down into
most of its directories, like this:

shell: ls -C /cdrom/fonts/type1
a	d	g	j	m	p	s	v
b	e	h	k	n	q	t	w
c	f	i	l	o	r	u	z

But as soon as I want to list the contents of the "a" or the "z" folder
my system simply freezes, no core dump, no nothing. The only three
things that still work are:

1st) I can switch between virtual terminals.
2nd) I can type control characters, but they are only echoed and don't
show any effect.
3rd) I can drop down into the kernel debugger. It reports

Debugger("manual escape to debugger")
Stopped at _Debugger+0x36: movb $0,_in_Debugger.122

and then waits for my input. I admit that I don't know what to look for
at this point.

The only way to return to normal operation is to press the reset button.

I can access these folders from MS-DOS 6.22 on the same system without
problems, so it's unlikely a defective CD-ROM or CD drive.

>How-To-Repeat:

Mount this CD-ROM and try to list the "a" or "z" folder.

>Fix:

No idea.

 Hi Sascha

Alot has changed since 2.2.6 in FreeBSD.
Can you please tell us if this is still a problem in a more
recent FreeBSD for example FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE.

 Thanks
 Johan K

Wow, it must have been years ago when I submitted this PR :-) But back
to the topic, the problem went away with 3.x and is therefore no problem
 in 4.x as well.
