>Description:

I'm having a problem installing FreeBSD 4.7 on a new system.
It has an Adaptec 2120S RAID controller.
I'm using the mini 4.7 ISO image to create the boot disk.

After booting the install CD and accepting the default
configuration, the RAID device is detected as aacd0.

Then the screen gets to the point where it says probing devices
please wait. It never goes beyond that.

Alt-F2 shows

aac0: **monitor** NormPrioCommand was received with Fib StructType=0xb0

aac0: COMMAND 0xc2644074 TIMEOUT AFTER 41 SECONSS

and repeats every 20 seconds.

It does not seem to matter what configuration I am using
for my drives (raid 0, 1, 10 etc).

Any help or pointers would be appreciated!

State-Changed-When: Thu Jan 23 13:18:00 PST 2003
State-Changed-Why:
The 2200 and 2120 cards have a bug that prevents them from
fetching commands over DMA that reside in the first 8k
of physical memory. I've fixed this by reserving that
first 8k (actually, the very first 4k is used by the
OS) so that commands and data cannot be allocated in there.
This was fixed in HEAD on Jan 22, and in RELENG_4 on
Jan 23.
