The boot loader will only allow selection of multiple OS using AT keyboard until the USB driver is fully loaded much later. Since more and more people are using USB keyboards only, it's essential that some kind of simple (keyboard only) USB support be built into the boot loader.

 In fact, the boot os selector is ok once I added Legacy USB support in the 
 bios. However, some kind of USB support should be loaded before the kernel 
 so it can be used for kernel config during bootup when it says "Press ENTER 
 to boot kernel...".

Fix, as user states, is to enable Legacy USB support so that the USB keyboard 
works before the OS boots.  This is necessary for editing BIOS settings and 
the like via a USB keyboard.  All x86 OS's have this in common, see the
