 Hi, Johan.

 The problem was cleared by following the article.
 I added the parameter to /boot/loader.conf and reboot the machine.

 Thank you very much

 I have a 4x2x8 Mitsumi 4802TE CDRW which gives me the same problem.
 sysinstall would proceed until it began unpacking /usr/bin. My BIOS
 detects it as PIO3, no UDMA of any sort. Seeing how this is an older
 drive, that sounds reasonable. I had to swap in a Mitsumi 48X CDROM
 to do the install. After install, I added back in the 4802TE, and I
 still get READ_BIG timeouts. The 48X drive works fine. The
 workaround in the errata doesn't work, nor does any any combination of
 setting modes using atacontrol. I also tried setting

 hw.ata.ata_dma="0"
 hw.ata.atapi_dma="0"

 but this didn't work either.

 I just thought this additional information might help track down the
 cause of this problem. BTW, the 4802TE worked fine under 4.3R.
