System: FreeBSD shell.wetworks.org 4.4-RC FreeBSD 4.4-RC #0: Tue Sep 4 23:00:13 EDT 2001 abc@shell.wetworks.org:/usr/src/sys/compile/bunko i386

When attempting to get sound out of the following device:

shell 13} cat /dev/sndstat
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Sep 4 2001 22:59:58
Installed devices:
pcm0: <Intel 82801BA (ICH2)> at io 0xd800, 0xdc00 irq 11 (1p/2r/0v channels duplex)

All you get is a dmesg entry of:
pcm0: record interrupt timeout, channel dead

relavent boot message:
pcm0: <Intel 82801BA (ICH2)> port 0xdc00-0xdc3f,0xd800-0xd8ff irq 11 at device 3
1.5 on pci0

I'm fully willing to give a developer root on the affected box to get
this problem solved.

State-Changed-Why:
Could not reproduce problem. Polled Alan to see if problem still
exists on his system, but got no response. Assuming problem gone away
since lots of systems use this driver and no other problem reports
along these lines.
